Simply six months after its grand opening, Lazo with Don Unusual has closed its doorways.
The eatery — billed as an experimental restaurant collaboration between San Antonio’s Estancia del Norte lodge and the native catering outfit that boasts the Unusual identify — quietly shuttered operations in September, the San Antonio Categorical-Information experiences.
Don Unusual of Texas CEO Brian Unusual described Lazo as “a giant leap of religion for everyone,” when he spoke to the every day. “The catering and restaurant world look comparable, however they’re utterly totally different animals,” he stated.
Chef Sarah Myles, previously a sous chef at Boiler Home within the Pearl crafted a menu for the restaurant that featured gadgets similar to mesquite charcoal-grilled tenderloin with jalapeño jelly, sautéed oysters and grilled white wings.
Estancia del Norte managing member Charles Leddy instructed the Categorical-Information that the lodge “shall be going again to the drafting board” for the Lazo house. Within the meantime, he stated, the sq. footage shall be added to the lodge’s convention capability.
Estancia del Norte’s bar and grill, Paseo, will stay open. It is positioned at 37 N.E. Loop 410.
